September is Cholesterol Education Month - know where you stand on your cholesterol levels

September is Cholesterol Education Month!

Do you know the last time you had your cholesterol checked? The American Heart Association recommends that adults 20 years and older should have their cholesterol checked every 4 to 6 years.

Cholesterol is found naturally in the body and your body needs it to build cells, however TOO much cholesterol can pose many problems. Cholesterol can build up on the inner walls of your arteries that transport blood to nourish your heart and brain and cause heart attacks and strokes. Diet and exercise can help to lower your cholesterol, but it’s important to get these levels checked and discuss with your doctor regularly. Make sure you know where you stand on your cholesterol levels – call us to schedule an appointment today!

Flu Shots are Here!
Walk-in hours for flu shots are 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm. Be sure to get yours this flu season!

December is Flu Vaccination Awareness Month. Did you know that approximately 500,000 people are hospitalised due to flu-related complications in the U.S. every year? Influenza is a common respiratory disease that spreads easily. While most people are only sick for a few days before they get better, some people can get very sick and stay sick for a long time, even people who are in perfect health. The best way to fight against this disease is to receive your annual flu shot. Flu shots are safe, quick, easy, and an important step in keeping yourself healthy during the flu season. If you have yet to schedule an appointment to receive your flu shot, we highly encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience. To book your flu shot appointment, please call your MedNOW Clinic, or you can schedule your appointment online through our website! If you have any more questions regarding the flu shot, the CDC provides excellent information. If you need assistance scheduling your appointment, call your MedNOW clinic. Our staff members are always willing to help! Thank you for taking care of your health!
