Dr. Alex Bustamante is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Although a New York City native, he spent his formative years in South America. After completing medical school in Latin America, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, conducting clinical medical research. He later finished his internship at the University of Colorado General Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Bustamante completed his Family Medicine Residency at Lynchburg Family Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Dr. Bustamante’s area of interest includes the treatment of knee osteoarthritis use of intra-articular joint injections, e of fluoroscopy for accurate placement of medications. He is also passionate about preventive medicine.
In his days off, he enjoys weight lifting, skiing, and trail running.
